This bungalow is derived from the vernacular California houses of the early 20th century and fused with the rustic, artistic styles of the "simplicity movement." Helen Lukens Gaut, a frequent contributor to Ladies Home Journal, was its point of origin. This small house plan offers up a variety of amenities for the homeowner including a breakfast room, large closet in the front "den" ... a multiuse space, and a porch off the breakfast room for al fresco dining.
